Berlin and LA-based composer team Matthias Biermann and Sebastian Pille met in 2013 and immediately realised they had a unique creative connection.
Before relocating from his native Netherlands to Berlin, Matthias Biermann studied jazz guitar at the Amsterdam Conservatory. After carefully honing his composition, writing and production skills, he fast became a staple of the German music scene. As well as being in high demand as a composer, he continues to be a key part of the band Roosevelt, playing worldwide concerts, festivals and TV shows.
Sebastian Pille grew up in Northern Germany first hammering out a tune on his family’s piano at the age of five. After realising very early on that he wanted to dedicate his life to becoming a composer, he went on to study music for film at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts, where he was taught by, among others, the legendary film composer, Ennio Morricone. Following Pille’s contribution to the score for Labyrinth of Lies, which landed on the Oscar shortlist, he decided to relocate to Los Angeles where he continues to live and work.
Since joining forces, Biermann and Pille’s fledgeling partnership has seen them score global commercial campaigns for brands such as Mercedes Benz, Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, Facebook, Samsung and Mini.

Steven Price is an Academy, Emmy, and Bafta Award-winning composer whose individualistic approach to scoring music to film has seen him work on many of the most innovative productions of recent years, from Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity to Edgar Wright's Baby Driver.
Whether it's incorporating original WW2 tanks in his score for Fury, starring Brad Pitt, or his wind instrument-driven score for Tom Harper's The Aeronauts, the music Steven creates seeks to give each story a completely unique voice, the result of a profoundly experimental and collaborative process.
Beginning his career in the late 1990s contributing to productions such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Batman Begins, Price went on to make his scoring debut in 2011 with Joe Cornish's horror comedy Attack The Block.
After winning a Bafta for his score for Sir David Attenborough's The Hunt, Steven went on to score Our Planet for Netflix Originals and the autobiographical documentary David Attenborough – A Life On Our Planet, for which Price won a Primetime Emmy. With performances of Our Planet Live In Concert at historic venues such as The Royal Albert Hall and The Hollywood Bowl, his musical masterpiece continues to sell out arenas across the US and Europe.
Recent projects include: Last Night In Soho, where he again teamed up with Edgar Wright; David Ayer's Suicide Squad; Oscar-nominated Netflix Animation Over The Moon; Michael Grandage's My Policeman, starring Harry Styles; Beast starring Idris Elba; Netflix Original's Heart Of Stone, directed by Tom Harper starring Gal Godot; the live-action animation hybrid Coyote Vs Acme; Los Frikis, the new feature from Peanut Butter Falcon directors Michael Schwartz and Tyler Nilson; and collaborations with brands including Samsung and Sonos.
Steven's extraordinary music continues to enhance the ideas and images of the world's most respected brands and filmmakers.

Brian’s career kicked off in style when, at age 16, he with his classmate Damien Rice started playing music together in school. This led to them forming the indie band Juniper and then later Bell X1, with whom Brian went on to record four albums and extensively tour the world.
Brian then set about creating The Cake Sale – a project set up to raise funds for the international charity Oxfam. The all-star-line-up featured Snowpatrol’s Gary Lightbody, The Cardigans Nina Persson, The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon, Lisa Hannigan, Glen Hansard, and Paul Noonan from Bell X1. The record was released in Europe and America to huge critical acclaim, became a multi-platinum selling hit, and still generates royalties for Oxfam.
Not being able to ignore his lifelong calling to score music to picture, Brian up’d sticks and moved to Berlin, where he converted a 3500sq ft factory in the heart of Kreuzberg into a modular recording studio complex. The studio became home to a head-spinning stable of composers including Hildur Guõnadóttir, Dustin O’Halloran, Rutger Hoedemaekers and the late, great Jóhann Jóhannsson - with whom Brian collaborated with on various TV and Film projects including Transparent, The Mercy, Mary Magdalene & I Love Dick.
After eight busy years in Berlin, Brian decided to return to his roots in his native Ireland. Inspired by the vast wooded landscape of County Wicklow, he designed and built ‘Treehouse Studios’, a stunning log cabin recording studio at the foot of Carrick Mountain.
In the spring of 2021, while most of the world was still in lockdown, Brian recorded his debut solo album Imbrium. The Sunday Times described the record as “nine unadorned piano instrumentals capture the stillness of life suspended, each piece as delicate and moving as it is restrained. The result is a quietly meditative work perfectly in tune with our present lives”.
In addition to composing music for Film and TV, the worlds most revered advertising agencies continue to engage Brian’s talents to help them soundtrack global brand campaigns for clients such as Samsung, Google, Under Armour, Dodge, Toyota, Wolf Blass, Volkswagen, Ferrero Küsschen, Uniqlo & Pfizer.
Brian is also a director of the Irish Music Rights Organisation and is Chair of the Screen Composers Guild of Ireland.

Aska Matsumiya is a classically-trained pianist, artist, and composer.
Matsumiya's career in scoring music for film kicked off when Spike Jonze asked to use her music as the theme song for his short film; I'm Here. The soundtrack went on to pick up the award for Best Original Music at the AICP Awards, and Aska has never looked back.
Recent projects include Halle Berry's directorial debut Netflix feature, Bruised - A24's After Yang, starring Colin Farrell and Jodie Turner-Smith, where she partnered with legendary Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. Phoenix Rising, directed by Oscar-nominated Amy Berg, is a 2-part documentary for HBO Max that follows Evan Rachel Wood's journey to pursue justice following domestic abuse. And directed by Steve Buscemi and starring Tessa Thompson, The Listener tells the harrowing story of a helpline volunteer fielding calls from broken people on the edges of society.
The past years have seen Matsumiya work on back-to-back projects, including the 2020 HBO series Betty with long-time collaborator Crystal Moselle, a series based on the Sundance breakout film, Skate Kitchen. Matsumiya and Moselle previously collaborated on Moselle's award-winning documentary, The Wolfpack, with Aska's haunting score garnering high praise across the industry. She also composed the sublime electronically-driven score for the life-affirming Japanese feature, 37 Seconds, which won the coveted Panorama Audience award at the Berlin Film Festival. Selah & The Spades, directed by Tayarisha Poe; I'm Your Woman, directed by Julia Hart, written and produced by Jordan Horowitz (La La Land); and This Is Personal, which saw Aska once again collaborate with Amy Berg.
Having picked up Gold for Best Original Music at the Ciclope Creative Festival for Daniel Askill's Audi Electric Wave film, Matsumiya is also in high demand in the commercial space. You can hear her compositions on campaigns for Porsche, Levi, Chanel, Hermes, Miu Miu, and Prada.
Outside of scoring music to film, Aska and Alex Somers (Jónsi/Sigur Rós) teamed up to create the musical soundscapes for 'If Only the Sea Could Sleep', an exhibition of painter Claire Tabouret's work at HAB Galerie in Nantes, France. Aska and Alex's pieces included field recordings of boats creaking and chimes swinging in the wind - the feeling of being in the middle of the ocean. Their soundscapes were played throughout the event space's 24-channel-surround-sound speaker system, separating each element of the compositions to intertwine and flow effortlessly alongside Tabouret's mesmerising paintings.

When Rattling Stick director Ed Morris asked Dirty Soup to help him create a track for his new spot for the Royal Navy, we knew only British music royalty would do, so we called Bernard Butler to ask him if he'd record an original track for the campaign. As you can see from the film, the partnership between Ed and Bernard proved to be pretty dynamic.
Scroll down the page to take a read of Campaign Magazine’s recent interview with Raife and Bernard where they chat about how the soundtrack took shape.

Born in Portugal and raised in Brazil, Tristan Bechet creates ear-grabbing electronically driven art-rock. Bechet's idiosyncratic approach to composition uses a collision of electronic soundscapes and rhythmic melody; always unexpected, his search for the innovative and cutting edge is paramount to his work.
Bechet has composed for a myriad of projects, including The Creator's Project, where he developed an art installation of the re-imagined version of David Bowie's Life On Mars original iconic video. Another hybrid project featured Kanye West for 25 Magazine in a film piece of visual and sonic fetishes, culminating in a brutal collage.
TRZTN, Bechet's solo side project, is a very different beast. It has seen him collaborate with many musicians, artists and filmmakers. One constant collaborator is Karen O of the band Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Together recording I Shall Rise; The Tomb Raider (Rise of The Tomb Raider) video game theme track. They also collaborated for the opening theme of the mini-series Hannah on Prime Video and Flesh and Bone on Starz. In addition, TRZTN was part of Karen O and the Kids, who together created the enchanting soundtrack for Spike Jonze's feature "Where The Wild Things Are".
TRZTN is also a regular collaborator with prominent fashion film directors such as Barnaby Roper, Nick Knight, Terry Richardson, and Mert and Marcus. These creative partnerships have seen his work feature in luxury brand campaigns and Fashion Films for Karl Lagerfeld, Dior, Chanel and Givenchy, and on platforms such as Nowness.com and the New York Times.
Latest projects include his TRZTN album, 'Royal Dagger Ballet', which includes collaborations with Paul Banks from the New York band Interpol, Jonathan Bree, and Karen O, amongst others.

Check out our latest track placement for Mercedes Benz - the Gary Friedman directed heart-warmer that we knew the perfect track for right away. It took us exactly one viewing of the edit before offering up the musical solution for this GLB campaign - The sublime, yet relatively unknown cover of The Temptations classic, My Girl, recorded by Stevie Wonder in 1972. Take a listen to Mr. Wonder’s version in full by hitting play on the sound bar on the right… oh man, those strings get us every time!

NYC based DJ and music junkie, Kristine Barilli lives, breathes and eats music in the form of deep dark vinyl.
She is always scouring the globe on a blackcrack thirsty hunt for the elusive undiscovered or record you never heard of! With over a decade of experience playing in venues all over the world. With a record collection somewhere near the 10,000 mark, Kristine weaves together genres from all over the world with her signature sound and style.
Barrili soundtracked Mother's latest spot for Stella Artois. The spot needed a drastic musical gear change to mirror the entry of the magical central character as he instantly enlivens a party with his array of crowd-pleasing illusions. We were asked to find a track for the commercial that'd help reflect the energetic upturn at their swinging sixties soirée. Enter chanteuse, Liz Brady, part-French, part-Greek and born in Cairo, and her most-famous track, Palladium (The Hip). We're sure you'll agree this French classic brings just the right amount of bombast to proceedings.

Karl Westman’s illustrious journey in the industry has taken many musical twists and turns.
Aged 24, Westman kicked off his career by landing an entry-level job at one of New York City’s go-to recording studios for the US advertising industry. His passion and inherent understanding for the art of crafting music to picture quickly moved him up the ranks - first, with Ogilvy & Mather NYC drafting him in as their In-House Music Producer, then as Executive Producer with two of NYC's premiere music houses. Westman’s limitless knowledge of the musical process knows no bounds. And with a pair of the most finely tuned ears in the industry, his hands-on approach has seen him sculpt music for the world’s most recognisable brand campaigns and head into the studio with many of the world’s most talented artists - from Dave Brubeck, Philip Glass, Danny Elfman, Quincy Jones, all the way through to Timbaland and James Murphy.

Japanese Rockabilly girl band for George @ Asda? Well of course! We worked again with Fallon to find the perfect track for George.com and Asda's kids campaign. ‘Woo Hoo’ by the Japanese rock/surf/pyschobilly girl trio, The 5.6.7.8’s, could not have been a better fit. Ridiculously upbeat, bursting with energy, and just the right side of intensely irritating! But enough about the kids in the ad … the music was ace!
Artist: The 5.6.7.8's

Raife Burchell is a music supervisor and professional musician. Before founding Dirty Soup in London in 2011, Raife spent over fifteen years recording and touring the world as a session musician.
Having lived and breathed music his entire working life, developing the craft of music supervision was a natural transition for Burchell. It has since seen him place music and engage many of the world's best composers to award-winning feature films, documentaries, and global advertising campaigns.
Raife has also worked extensively as a music supervisor on live branded events for Spotify, GQ, Ben Sherman, Ted Baker, Topman, The Colbert Report, The Soho House Group, The Wimbledon Tennis Championships and The Cannes Film Festival – engaging artists including Alison Mosshart, George Ezra, Rita Ora, Carl Barat, Charli XCX, Tom Odell, Villagers, Hot Chip, Naughty Boy, Bat For Lashes, and Death in Vegas.
Raife made the transition into film music supervision after relocating to the US in 2016. A chance meeting with Boys director, Stacy Cochran in an East Village coffee shop lead to him being drafted in to work on Cochran's feature, Write When You Get Work, staring English acting aristocracy, Emily Mortimer. Raife also supervised the original music on, The Song of Sway Lake, directed by student Academy Award-Winner, Ari Gold. Next up was, Don't Forget Me, a uniquely beautiful dark comedy directed by Ram Nehari - a story of a highly dysfunctional romance between a woman recovering from an eating disorder and a socially awkward tuba player.
With the commercial and live arm of Dirty Soup simultaneously going from strength to strength, Raife formed a creative partnership for his Film & TV supervision work with one of the best in the business, the NYC based music supervisor, Karl Westman. Burchell and Westman have since supervised the spellbinding documentary feature, Bombshell, The Hedy Lamarr Story, directed by Emmy-award winning journalist, Alexandra Dean, produced by Adam Haggiag, and executive produced by Susan Sarandon, and, To Dust, a dark, brooding tale in which Matthew Broderick tries to help Géza Röhrigg (Son of Saul), a Hasidic cantor in upstate New York, come to terms with the untimely death of his wife.

We teamed up with BBDO Barcelona and Iconoclast Berlin to create a track for Jonas Lindstroem’s new Audi Campaign.
After carrying out extensive research we landed on the idea of engaging the extraordinary talents of half man, half machine, Faith SFX, to compose this vocal only track.
We first saw Faith on THIS YouTube clip from way back when, and more recently witnessed his incredible beatbox skills alongside one of our favourite artists, Plan B, as the pair have been long-term touring partners.
Take a listen to the track; every single sound – vocals, melody, beats – comes from Faith’s remarkable body.
Faith SFX is a rare talent, and we were so thrilled we were able to team him up with Jonas and his crew.
Very special thanks to Nico Blankenhorn for his support on this project.

This Mercedes spot was directed by Christian Larson. We took one look at the initial ideas for the film and knew we had to go big with this particular composition. With a full-throttle narrative like that, we were determined to do the piece – and the product – justice.
Step up producer and composer, Rob Cairns. The guy has made his name on the notoriously competitive LA underground scene and definitely has the chops to deliver the goods. His score helps keep the adrenalin running high throughout the spot and syncs brilliantly with the action onscreen. Almost makes you want to throw your own TV out of the window!

When you’re working for a long-standing, luxury auto marque like Mercedes you know you have to deliver something truly special. When Antoni Berlin asked us for an original track for this spot, simply titled ‘Fashion’, we knew LA-based underground producer and composer, D.O.B. would nail it.
The director of the spot is major league heavy hitter, Christian Larson. With him at the helm, plus Eliot Sumner starring, this was always destined to be a blockbuster of a commercial. D.O.B’s score only serves to ratchet up the tension and atmosphere to an almighty crescendo.
